House of Bards Theatre Company opened their inaugural show, William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Macbeth, on October 11, 2019 at the intimate Grand Annex, located in the Arts District of San Pedro, California. From 2022 onwards, after a hiatus due to the world wide pandemic, The House of Bards launched again, serving the San Pedro community with award winning, professional productions. George Orwell’s 1984, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, each earned Broadway World Regional Theatre nominations in all categories, winning Broadway World Regional Theatre Award for FAVORITE LOCAL THEATER, BEST THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES, BEST LIGHTING DESIGN, BEST COSTUME DESIGN (for A Midsummer Night's Dream), and BEST PLAY, BEST SOUND DESIGN (for 1984).
